Raindrop on a Swan’s Feather Mute Swan Cygnus olor. Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom. Rachel Piper, United Kingdom. Category: Attention to Detail. COMMENDED. Photographer's Story: ‘The sun was shining on the path of the Grand Union Canal, catching water droplets on scattered Mute Swan feathers in its rays. This just had to be captured through my lens! To find the desired angle and take my photographs against a dark background, I chose to lift this particularly feather and very carefully hold it between the tips of my fingers. This was no mean feat as the water rolled from one edge to the other. But thankfully I succeeded and I am thrilled to be able to share my image with you!’ Canon EOS 6D with Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens. 100mm focal length; 1/640 second; f/2.8; ISO 1,000. Handheld.
